Is "North America Only"... a possibility...
Shutting out the bad guys

What do you think of this idea…
Server attacks are increasing from foreign sources… but there are solutions. I need your feedback on some powerful solutions I’m considering.
What’s happening is severe front door pounding… hammering so loudly and so often on websites that legitimate users can’t even get to the door. That means the server goes down… and no one can get to anything on it…. mail, websites…
The vast majority of these attacks are coming from overseas… countries that either don’t care OR don’t have the will to go after these abusers. So here’s the million dollar question…
Do you care about access to your site from these foreign areas?
Let’s be blunt… are you doing business world wide? If you’re a local plumber, are you expecting a call from Thailand? If you run a burger shop in Kelowna, are you getting orders from Bangladesh?
My guess… the answer is no for just about everybody. Oh yes, we already know there are some of you who indeed have legitimate global enterprises… it’s those of you servicing local areas that we need to get feedback from.
At COOLCOM, we’ve repeatedly discussed the advantages of having servers that only address local geographical areas… and by that I mean… North America… Caribbean…
Do you have repeated contact with clients outside of that area?
If you have a moment, drop us a line by replying to this newsletter… simply say something like “Hey Kenn… yes, I deal with Ireland a lot.”
This will help us formulate a tactical response to server abuse.
Thanks,
